Webhooks for RCS Now Support Agent-Specific Filtering

Webhooks for RCS (Rich Communication Services) have been enhanced with the ability to apply filters based on specific agents. This update allows you to configure webhooks to trigger only for designated agents, providing more targeted and efficient delivery of notifications. By filtering webhooks in this way, you can reduce noise and ensure that only relevant events are captured and processed for each agent.

What's New in July: RCS, Voice, and Contacts Updates

Contacts 📞

  • We've updated the contact display to show names in the format "Lastname, Firstname". This should make it easier to quickly identify your contacts if you prefer to sort by lastname.

Developer Dashboard 🤖

  • We've added a new feature to the debugger that allows you to search for mails by the ID of the SMS/RCS. This should make it easier to troubleshoot SMS-related issues.
  • We've also fixed some pagination issues in the debugger, so you should now be able to navigate through your data more easily.

RCS 📱

  • We've added a new feature that allows you to use RCS SMS fallback. This means that if a recipients handset or the destination network doesn't support RCS, we automatically send a SMS with the content of the RCS of with a link to a webview.

Voice 📞

  • We've added a new API endpoint that allows you to cancel a call. You can find more information about this endpoint in our documentation: https://docs.seven.io/en/rest-api/endpoints/voice#hangup-a-call
  • We've also added two new features to show who hung up and display SIP hangup status (e.g. unallocated_number). This should provide more visibility into the status of your calls.

Other minor Updates 🔄

  • Fixed an issue with 2FA login, so you should now be able to log in securely without any issues.
  • Resolved an issue where some IT mobile numbers were incorrectly detected as fixed_line numbers. This should improve the accuracy of your number detection.
  • Fixed some issues on reseller sites, so you should now be able to use our platform without any hiccups.
  • Merged the two pages replies and inbound messages, and added pagination and many UI improvements to the inbox. This should make it easier to manage your messages and stay on top of your communication.

Understanding Unexpected 2FA Code Emails

As some of you may have noticed, we have introduced emails with 2FA codes for your login in cases where the login process shows irregularities.

This means you may receive a 2FA code via email, if you have not enabled 2FA.

This situation can arise due to various security reasons, including:

  • An unrecognized device attempting to log in
  • Login attempts from a different country
  • The account having 2FA set as mandatory
  • Your first login in a long time
  • Irregularities detected during the login process for other reasons.

Please note that the 2FA code expires after five minutes, so you'll need to request a new one if it expires before use.

  • Delete Contacts: Remove contacts from your system when they are no longer needed.
  • Add Contacts to Groups: Assign contacts to specific groups to better organize and manage your contacts.
  • Remove Contacts from Groups: Remove contacts from groups when the assignment needs to change.

Groups API

  • Create Groups: Create groups to segment your contacts based on criteria, interests, or other factors.
  • Retrieve Groups: Retrieve details of your created groups and see which contacts they contain.
  • Update Groups: Change the details or memberships of your groups to keep them up to date.
  • Delete Groups: Remove groups that are no longer needed from your system.

These new API features have been developed to give you more comprehensive control and flexibility in managing contacts and groups.   • Display Deleted/Bounced Account Members:

  • Invitation Expiry Extended to 7 Days (Previously 48 hours):

    • We've extended the invitation expiration period to 7 days (previously 48 hours). If an email to a new member receives a bounc, the member will be automatically removed.

API Changes

In our latest update, we have introduced some significant changes to improve the clarity and functionality of our service. Please take note of the following changes in this changelog post:

Deprecation of the debug parameter

We have deprecated the use of the debug parameter and replaced it with the sandbox/live API key to specify the desired environment. Additionally, we've added a note regarding the ambiguous if the API key is for live environment and debug-flag turned on, which will now trigger an error code 308.

Change of type of the API request ID

To enhance compatibility and consistency, we have changed the data type for API request IDs from integers to strings. Developers should update their code accordingly to ensure smooth integration with this update.

Debugger

We have fixed some UI/UX issues and implemented a copy-button you could analyse your requests more easily in other applications.

☎️ API Update: Custom Ringtime on Voice Calls ☎️

We're excited to introduce an addition to our Voice API.

Set a custom ringtime for your voice calls using the ringtime parameter.
Value must be between 1 and 60, meaning the ringtime will be set to the value in seconds.
The default value is 15 seconds.

Example:
ringtime=30
Sets a 30 second ringtime.

Dark mode mails

Our transactional emails have been optimized for dark mode! Going forward, when you receive emails from us, whether it's a confirmation of a purchase, a password reset or any other transactional email, it will automatically adjust to your device's dark mode settings.

Repurchase a deleted number

Have you ever accidentally deleted your inbound number or do you need an already deleted inbound number again?

You now have the option to reactivate already deactivated phone numbers directly in your account within 10 days. Needing a reactivation after more than 10 days? Just contact our support, maybe we could reassign the number to your account.

UI fixes in contacts page

We have optimized the UI of the contact page in various aspects:

  • When sorting by a column, corresponding arrows are now displayed
  • The number of contact entries to be displayed is now stored
  • The currently selected number of entries to display is highlighted in the dropdown
  • The currently selected group in the sidebar is now highlighted
  • The button "Remove from group" is now disabled if no group is selected
