We’re excited to announce that you can now set up and launch your own RCS Service directly in our webapp, giving you unparalleled control over your messaging. 🚀

With iOS 18.1 expected to launch in the next couple of weeks, RCS Business Messaging will soon be available on nearly all modern smartphones. This means you can preview your service live on your own device and experience exactly what your customers will see – no waiting, no guessing. Once you’re satisfied with the setup, you can submit your RCS Service for real-time approval with network operators, bringing your service live as soon as it’s ready.

Ready to get started? Log in to your account, go to Settings, select the tab Sender IDs and click Create RCS Service to begin setting up, testing, and perfecting your RCS Service.

Webhooks for RCS Now Support Agent-Specific Filtering

Webhooks for RCS (Rich Communication Services) have been enhanced with the ability to apply filters based on specific agents. This update allows you to configure webhooks to trigger only for designated agents, providing more targeted and efficient delivery of notifications. By filtering webhooks in this way, you can reduce noise and ensure that only relevant events are captured and processed for each agent.

What's New in July: RCS, Voice, and Contacts Updates

Contacts 📞

  • We've updated the contact display to show names in the format "Lastname, Firstname". This should make it easier to quickly identify your contacts if you prefer to sort by lastname.

Developer Dashboard 🤖

  • We've added a new feature to the debugger that allows you to search for mails by the ID of the SMS/RCS. This should make it easier to troubleshoot SMS-related issues.
  • We've also fixed some pagination issues in the debugger, so you should now be able to navigate through your data more easily.

RCS 📱

  • We've added a new feature that allows you to use RCS SMS fallback. This means that if a recipients handset or the destination network doesn't support RCS, we automatically send a SMS with the content of the RCS of with a link to a webview.

Voice 📞

  • We've added a new API endpoint that allows you to cancel a call. You can find more information about this endpoint in our documentation: https://docs.seven.io/en/rest-api/endpoints/voice#hangup-a-call
  • We've also added two new features to show who hung up and display SIP hangup status (e.g. unallocated_number). This should provide more visibility into the status of your calls.

Other minor Updates 🔄

  • Fixed an issue with 2FA login, so you should now be able to log in securely without any issues.
  • Resolved an issue where some IT mobile numbers were incorrectly detected as fixed_line numbers. This should improve the accuracy of your number detection.
  • Fixed some issues on reseller sites, so you should now be able to use our platform without any hiccups.
  • Merged the two pages replies and inbound messages, and added pagination and many UI improvements to the inbox. This should make it easier to manage your messages and stay on top of your communication.

Understanding Unexpected 2FA Code Emails

As some of you may have noticed, we have introduced emails with 2FA codes for your login in cases where the login process shows irregularities.

This means you may receive a 2FA code via email, if you have not enabled 2FA.

This situation can arise due to various security reasons, including:

  • An unrecognized device attempting to log in
  • Login attempts from a different country
  • The account having 2FA set as mandatory
  • Your first login in a long time
  • Irregularities detected during the login process for other reasons.

Please note that the 2FA code expires after five minutes, so you'll need to request a new one if it expires before use.

Today, we're excited to announce the integration of RCS (Rich Communication Services) into our Mail API!

Starting now, you can send not only simple text messages but also complex RCS messages through our platform.
With this new Mail-to-RCS feature, developers can send not just basic messages but also rich multimedia content like images, videos, location information, and more via RCS.

What you need to know

  • RCS Support: The Mail API now supports sending RCS messages to provide a more interactive and engaging messaging experience.
  • Simple and Complex Messages: The integration enables the sending of both simple and complex RCS messages via the API. Whether you want to send just text or multimedia content, the Mail API is now equipped for it.
  • JSON Code for Complex Messages: For complex RCS messages, send the JSON code of the RCS object as text. This allows developers to leverage all the features of RCS to create the perfect message.
  • Sender name: When sending RCS, the sender ID will always be the unique name of your agent.

Use the Mail to RCS function to create and send customized and interactive messages that your recipients will love.

API Changes

Deprecation of the debug parameter

We have deprecated the use of the debug parameter and replaced it with the sandbox/live API key to specify the desired environment. Additionally, we've added a note regarding the ambiguous if the API key is for live environment and debug-flag turned on, which will now trigger an error code 308.

Change of type of the API request ID

To enhance compatibility and consistency, we have changed the data type for API request IDs from integers to strings. Developers should update their code accordingly to ensure smooth integration with this update.

☎️ API Update: Custom Ringtime on Voice Calls ☎️

We're excited to introduce an addition to our Voice API.

Set a custom ringtime for your voice calls using the ringtime parameter.
Value must be between 1 and 60, meaning the ringtime will be set to the value in seconds.
The default value is 15 seconds.

Example:
ringtime=30
Sets a 30 second ringtime.

Add credits in your currency via PayPal & credit card

You can now add credits to your account in many different currencies than Euro:

  • Canadian Dollar C$
  • British Pound Sterling £
  • Japanese Yen ¥
  • US Dollar $
  • Swiss Franc CHF

Currently, only paypal and credit cards are supported to top up in other currencies. On your invoice there will be the amount in your desired currency and the converted amounts in Euro. You account will still run in Euro and every services are billed in Euro.
